Welcome to ACSAC 2011!

The 27th Annual Computer Security Applications Conference will be held in Orlando, Florida on December 5-9, 2011.

ACSAC brings together hundreds of security professionals from academia, government and industry with an interest in applied security to learn about the latest advances in the field, as well as to exchange ideas and experiences. The conference is renowned for its worldwide attendance, high quality program, and attendee networking.

This year's outstanding technical program includes keynotes by Susan Landau and Terry Benzel, classic paper talks by Paul Syverson and Matt Blaze, 39 peer-reviewed paper presentations, panels, case studies, works-in-progress, posters and a FISMA training track. In addition, we will have two days of professional development courses and workshops, including the Layered Assurance Workshop (LAW) and Workshop on Governance of Technology, Information, and Policies (GTIP). Our post conference social event will be to SeaWorld Orlando on Friday afternoon.

The FISMA training, professional development courses, and the entire technical program qualify for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits – all you need to do is submit your attendance records for professional security certification.

New this year is the Tracer FIRE Cyber Security Competition, where after a morning training in forensics and incident response, attendees will be broken into teams and will participate in a competition that will require them to apply what they have learned to solve cyber security challenges.

Also new this year, Works-in-Progress will have their own session during the technical program, allowing presenters to project their work and captivate their audience. WiP submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis until all slots are filled – so submit early!

With many entertainment options and non-stop flights from across the United States and around the world, Orlando is a premier destination. The conference will be at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel & Spa in the Walt Disney World Resort®. Conveniently located across the street from Pleasure Island, this vibrant Orlando hotel offers easy access to entertainment, shops, and restaurants.

On behalf of the ACSAC Organizing Committee, I invite you to join us in Orlando this December.
