Panel: The Search for Meaningful Trustworthiness
Moderator: Peter G. Neumann, SRI
Enormous problems exist in ensuring trustworthiness in applications and in enterprises overall, with respect to security, integrity, privacy, and so on. Considerable hopes are placed on the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC). What would it mean for `trusted identities' to be successful? How would achieving `trusted identities' help trustworthiness? What trustworthiness issues might `trusted identities' solve, and which ones would remain challenges that would need to be handled in other ways? What additional advances are needed? What are the potential impacts on network security and cloud computing? This panel will address these questions, and many others.
